Moonlighting

- A physician who has the status of resident may practise without holding a compliance notice when the practice concerned is recognized as a specific medical activity (AMP) in the region.

- The resident must hold a regular permit to practise, be registered on the membership roll of the Collège des médecins du Québec and have paid the Collège’s fee, and take out additional liability insurance coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

The resident must apply to the following for authorization under Article 3.09 of the special agreement:

- Regional department of general medicine (DRMG)
- Provincial physician centre (Centre national Médecins-Québec, or CNMQ)

The resident’s new biller status remains once his residency is completed.
