Garde à l'urgence (cf. article 12.12)
Call duty in the emergency room is considered call duty in an establishment when the resident does not work full-time in that department.
Call duty in the emergency room may not exceed 12 hours in length. Nevertheless, if it is combined with a regular work day, the total number of hours worked may not exceed 16 hours. It must comply with the provisions in the agreement concerning call periods in an establishment and night calls in an establishment. Moreover, for instance, if a resident works on the wards during the day, and is assigned to the emergency room to perform evening call duty there, the maximum number of hours in the day will be 16 hours. A mandatory 8-hour rest period is required after each call period. Note that this article does not apply to residents on rotation in the emergency room.
