Become a member

Shortly before the start of the residency, future R1s receive an email inviting them to become a member of the FMRQ. Membership entitles them to our services and those of your association.

If you have started your residency but have not received this email, write to adhesion@fmrq.qc.ca.

Professional association membership fees are automatically deducted from residents’ pay by the healthcare establishment which hired them and is associated with the university.

This entitles residents to services, including defence of the rights provided for in the FMRQ collective agreement. Consequently, this agreement stipulates that every resident doctor must be a member in good standing of the local FMRQ-affiliated association which represents residents in his/her university.

Please note that the membership form requires you to provide certain personal details that will be used only to confirm your membership legally, communicate with you, or send you information in connection with your residency and the services provided by the FMRQ or your local association, on the basis of your membership status.
