Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Whether for trouble at work, or for personal, spousal, family, or addiction problems, contact the AEP. Just having a question or concern is enough reason to use this service.
Please note dans the EAP, witch is part of Beneva Group insurance, comes into effect following one month’s continuous service.
The EAP for resident doctors is:
- offers up to 12 hours’ consultation by phone or videoconference
- is available 24/7
- draws on a team consisting of psychologists, social workers, guidance counsellors, psychoeducators, and sexologists
- is confidential

This new support supplements existing services, including:
Québec Physicians’ Health Program (QPHP)
By contacting them, you will receive peer support without charge. QPHP physician advisors can also recommend the services of other categories of professionals, if necessary.
QPHP offices are open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. But you can also reach a physician advisor from 5 pm and 8 pm Monday through Friday, and from 9 am to noon on weekends and statutory holidays.
Consulting a psychologist (Intermediate or Superior Plan of Beneva)
If you have subscribed to the Intermediate or Superior Plan under Beneva, you will be reimbursed for up to $2,000 a year in consultation fees, upon submission of receipts. The psychologist must be a member of the Quebec Order of Psychologists (OPQ).
