Public/Private Practice

For a physician participating within the meaning of the Act governing the Quebec Health Insurance Board, i.e., who is paid by RAMQ, it is possible to practise in the private sector at the same time, in certain specialties, but only after five years of practice in the public sector since the adoption of Bill 83 on April 24, 2025. This is the case with plastic surgeons, for instance.
