The FMRQ calls for the rejection of all the measures contained in Bill 83. These measures, in addition to being clearly discriminatory, would certainly be counterproductive if the real objective is to mobilize the next generation of doctors to support the public health network. Quebec resident doctors, who are already involved on a daily basis within the public health system, all wish to be able to devote their professional lives to serving the population of Quebec. Let us not break their determination with coercive and disproportionate measures, including one that would force our graduates to practice in Quebec after their training.
This is what the FMRQ argued in parliamentary committee on February 6, 2025 as part of Bill 83 aimed at promoting the practice of medicine within the public health and social services network.
