The Quebec government, after having taken the decisions that were necessary to increase admissions to medicine in 2022, is now undermining its own efforts to attract more young people to medicine to Quebec by adopting these new constraints on practice.
This is what the FMRQ went to argue in parliamentary committee on February 6, 2025 as part of the bill which aims to promote the practice of medicine within the public health and social services network.
“We all want to work in a public system. But there are factors which mean that this is not always possible,” explains Dr Ghassen Soufi.
