Eligibility
Resident doctors from the four faculties of medicine are eligible for these grants, with the exception of FMRQ board members.
Suggested topics
Each year, the FMRQ invites its members to submit a grant application for a research project. Projects may focus on topics such as:
- Postgraduate medical education (in general)
- Clinical exposure
- Postgraduate training models
- Organization of care
- Continuity of care
- Any other topic related to the FMRQ’s mission

Project evaluation
Applications will be reviewed according to the following criteria:
Each project will be evaluated on its own merits and in relation to the budget required for its implementation.
The evaluation is conducted by an independent scientific committee composed of researchers or other experts working in various health-related fields.
Coordination of the process is handled by the FMRQ’s permanent staff.
Conditions
- The grant funds must be used for project implementation (research assistant, data collection and entry, etc.). Under no circumstances may they be used to remunerate researchers or supervisors. The FMRQ will cover or reimburse expenses incurred for the project upon presentation of invoices or other supporting documents.
- Each project must be supported by a supervisor or a research team.
- Evaluation is conducted by an independent scientific committee.
- The research article or report must be submitted to the FMRQ either before or after publication.
- Projects must facilitate the writing of articles for peer reviewed journals or the dissemination of results in publications aimed at a specific medical audience or the general public.
- Any scientific publication or presentation must acknowledge the contribution of the Fédération des médecins résident·e·s du Québec (FMRQ).
Dissemination of results
The FMRQ reserves the right to disseminate research results in targeted publications (in agreement with the authors), to promote their presentation at symposia or conferences, or to feature them in its own publications.
